Have you ever been to a tropical country during the rainy season? And experienced a storm? 

If you have, you know how chaotic it can get.

⛈️ The sky goes completely gray and it roars through thunder and lightning. Heavy raindrops pierce the ground. It can rain for hours, non-stop.

⛈️ Howling winds break tree branches and bring down lampposts. Rivers overflow. Ocean waves double their size. Animals seek shelter.

And then most of the time, the next morning… Everything is different.

☀️ Blue sky. Pristine ocean. Animals come out and carry on with their lives as if nothing had happened. Because they know that is the natural order of life.

☀️ Calmness is commonly preceded by chaos.

My teacher Michael Beckwith says:

“Whenever there is chaos, there is an order trying to emerge.”

And this is true in nature as much as it is in our lives. 

It can be hard to see the underlying purpose hiding behind chaos when we are going through tough situations in life. 

A breakup, an illness, losing a job, family conflicts. We perceive it all as problems and we get easily blinded by all the emotions emerging from the turmoil. But like many things in life, it’s a matter of perspective.

🧘 You can learn and develop the habit of stopping in the middle of chaos, take a deep breath and go within. 

Not to pretend nothing is happening, not to numb the pain, or to mask things behind false positivism, that would be bypassing. But instead, turn to your inner wisdom to ask for clarity and guidance.

🧘 Ask your heart: What is trying to emerge from this?

Your heart will always give you an answer if you ask, and this simple question can shift your perspective towards chaos and turn it into a lesson, into an opportunity.

When things seem to be going off track, remember, there is a new order trying to emerge. Trust the intelligence of the Universe. 😌
